Safety Tips
Your safety is our priority. Follow these guidelines to buy and sell securely on BuyOrSell24.
Non-Negotiable Safety Rules
These are essential trust signals. Follow them every time, no exceptions:
Always Meet in a Safe, Public Place
Never meet at private homes or remote locations. Choose well-lit, populated areas during daytime hours.
For cars: We strongly recommend meeting at RTA testing centers where you can verify the vehicle's condition professionally. Other good options include shopping mall parking lots, petrol stations, or police station parking areas.
Inspect the Item Thoroughly Before Payment
Never hand over money without seeing and testing the item first. For vehicles, check documents, test drive, and consider a professional inspection. For electronics, test all features. For property, view it in person during daylight.
Never Wire Money or Share OTPs
Do NOT send money via wire transfer, Western Union, MoneyGram, or cryptocurrency for items you haven't seen.
Never share OTPs (One-Time Passwords) received via SMS or email with anyone. These are used to access your bank accounts and personal information. Legitimate buyers and sellers will never ask for OTPs.
Use the BuyOrSell24 Chat System Initially
Keep all initial communication on our platform. This creates a record and helps protect both parties. Only share your phone number once you're comfortable. Never click suspicious links or download files from strangers.
Trust Your Instincts
If something feels wrong, pressured, or too good to be true - walk away. No deal is worth compromising your safety. Your gut feeling is your best protection against scams.
Additional Safety Guidelines
Bring Someone With You
When meeting in person, bring a friend or family member along. Let others know where you're going and when you expect to return.
Verify Seller/Buyer Identity
Check the seller's or buyer's profile, reviews, and account age. Be cautious with newly created accounts or profiles with no history.
Keep Records of Communication
Save all messages, receipts, and screenshots of your transaction. This documentation can help resolve disputes and report fraud if needed.
Payment Safety
Cash is King for Local Deals
For in-person transactions, cash is the safest option. Count and verify cash carefully in a well-lit public area before handing over the item or keys.
NEVER Wire Money to Strangers
Avoid wire transfers, Western Union, MoneyGram, or cryptocurrency payments for items you haven't seen in person. These payment methods offer zero buyer protection and are commonly used in scams. Once the money is sent, it's gone forever.
Bank Transfers: Verify First
If using bank transfer, ensure you've inspected the item first and the seller's details match their ID. For large purchases, consider meeting at a bank branch to complete the transfer safely.
Never Pay in Advance
Don't send any money, deposit, or "holding fee" before inspecting the item in person. Legitimate sellers will never pressure you to pay upfront without viewing the product.
Protect Your Banking Information
Never share your OTP (One-Time Password), CVV number, full card details, or online banking credentials with anyone. Banks and legitimate sellers will NEVER ask for this information.
Recognizing Scams
Deals That Are Too Good to Be True
Be skeptical of prices that are significantly below market value. Scammers often use unrealistically low prices to lure victims.
Requests for Personal Information
Never share sensitive information like bank details, passwords, or ID numbers through messages or email.
Pressure to Act Quickly
Scammers create urgency to prevent you from thinking clearly. Take your time to verify and make informed decisions.
Suspicious Communication
Be wary of poor grammar, generic messages, or requests to communicate outside the platform. Legitimate users provide clear, specific information.
Tips for Sellers
Verify Payment Before Handing Over Items
Ensure you have received full payment before releasing the item. For cash, count it carefully. For bank transfers, wait for confirmation.
Protect Your Privacy
Don't share your full address or personal details in your listing. Use the platform's messaging system for initial contact.
Be Honest in Your Listings
Provide accurate descriptions and clear photos. Honest listings build trust and prevent disputes.
Tips for Buyers
Inspect Before Purchasing
Always inspect items in person before buying. Test electronics, check for damage, and verify authenticity.
Research Market Prices
Know the typical price range for items you're interested in. This helps you identify suspiciously low prices that may indicate scams.
Ask Questions
Don't hesitate to ask sellers for more information, additional photos, or proof of ownership. Legitimate sellers will be happy to provide details.
